DAMON LALONDE

Viticulturist

Damon is a Washington State native, born in Seattle and raised in the Tri Cities. His passion for wine started early after visiting a relative in Napa, California. In the late 1990s, Damon worked for a nursery growing stock for timber company poplar plantations, which lead to him to get a degree in Irrigation Technology at Walla Walla Community College and make the move into the wine industry.

His first grape harvest was in 1999 with Barnard Griffin where he spent several years before moving to Ste Michelle Wine Estates. In 2007, after 6 years with Ste Michelle as a viticulturist, Damon left to manage Vinagium’s two vineyards on Red Mountain: Red Heaven and Scooteney Flats. During this time he also worked for Corliss Estates and planted the Charles Smith’s Powerline Vineyard in 2012. He is also a partner in the French Creek Vineyard in the Yakima Valley.
